Since 1976, the area of Lake Dobskie has been a landscape reserve. Located near Giżycko within the complex of Lake Mamry with an area of 1833 ha. The area of the lake is 18 km and its maximum depth is 22.5 m. The lake has four islands, the most famous of which is the Cormorant Island. The reserve is overgrown with thickets and reed communities. Such vegetation is conducive to the establishment of water birds here. The lake and its shores are also a great place to stay for passing birds. You can see here colonies of cormorants and gray herons, as well as colonies of corncrake, crane, silver gull and tern. The area of the reserve is covered by three types of forests: fresh forest, moist forest and mixed swamp forest. The characteristic species of trees that can be found here are black alder, aspen, linden, silver birch and mossy birch. Around the lake there are moraine hills with gentle slopes, covered with numerous erratic boulders.
