The Copernicus Tower is the oldest element of the fortifications of the Cathedral Hill. It was built before 1400, the upper floors were rebuilt several times in the space of the 15th-18th centuries. In the years 1504-1543 the tower was the property of Mikołaj Kopernik, his apartment was located here. It was burned in 1945, then reconstructed. The works were completed in 1965. Currently it houses the exhibition Study room of a Renaissance scholar.
