The prosecutor's castle was built by the Teutonic Order around the mid-fourteenth century, which is mentioned in the mention of 1340 about the once residing here of the Teutonic prosecutor performing a judicial, commanding and administrative role. It is not certain, however, whether it existed then in the place of today's castle. This fortification was destroyed by Lithuanians in 1366, after which it was not mentioned for several dozen years, until 1400. At that time a Gothic building existed in the place of today's castle. During the Thirteen Years' War between the Kingdom of Poland and the Teutonic Order, the surrounding population burned down the castle in 1455. The destruction was so great that another Teutonic prosecutor was not mentioned until 1489. From 1513, the castle passed into the hands of secular managers, and in 1560 rebuilt. In 1614 the building was rebuilt in the Renaissance style into a hunting manor. Partially transformed in the mid-nineteenth century, it was used by officers of the Boyen Fortress.
