The landscape, floristic and fauna reserve was established in 1989. Within the reserve are: the lower section of the Krutynia River and: Gardyńskie Lake, Malinówko Lake, and Dłużec Lake. The reserve has an area of ​​970 ha. It was created to preserve the postglacial landscape, natural water ecosystems and the unique richness of flora and fauna, in particular high, transitional and low peat bogs with their flora, as well as biotopes of birds of prey. The Krutynia River is a popular water kayaking route, and land tourist routes run through the reserve. The rivers and lakes are the "reed kingdom" consisting mainly of common reed, broadleaf baton, venomous shawl. On the outskirts of the lakes as well as in the wide river valley there are patches of peat bogs and swamp forests, primarily alder forests.
