The largest lake in Poland with an area of ​​114 km². The depth of the lake is up to 23.4 m. It has a very varied bottom sculpture with numerous deep holes and underwater hills. There are 8 islands on it, the most famous is the Devil's Ostrów and separated from it by a narrow isthmus Spider Island. The most beautiful place in the south is the island of Kaczor, large, oval, covered with pine and birch wood, with a few really good approaches. In many places, the shallow bottom of the lake contains erratic boulders, which are located just below the water surface (20 to 30 cm below the water surface). They pose a threat in shipping. The shores of the lake are relatively low, marshy, and overgrown with bulrush and calamus, which is why they are difficult to access.
