It was created with the intention of protecting the heron's population. These birds formed large colonies here. Later, however, they moved to another area. The traditional name of the reserve has remained, but currently the subject of protection is a 200-year-old pine stand, in which there are birds of prey. It covers an area of ​​17.1 ha. It covers part of the pine forest and depleted oak-hornbeam with prosperous 160-year-old pines. Herons and cormorants nest in the reserve, and white-tailed eagles nearby.
